Probably one of the best known and highest quality Médoc wine producers in the world, the Château Margaux gained Premier Cru status in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification for its red wine.

The château building is impressive, a 19th century First Empire style building designed by the architect Guy-Louis Combes and has a grand white columned entrance. Wine has been grown on this estate since the 15th century and today covers an area of over 250 hectares.

Besides the Grand Vin du Château Margaux, they also produce Pavilion Rouge du Château Margaux wine and a dry white Pavilion Blanc du Château Margaux with Sauvignon Blanc grapes, the latter falling under the generic Bordeaux appellation.
