The building itself was regenerated and built with the materials from a previous church when it became too small!
The Bordeaux architect Armand Corcelles was inspired by Greek art very fashionable in the nineteenth century. Of great sobriety, the western facade is topped by a huge pediment.
Worth knowing
This church also has an interesting 'ex-voto': a votive offering to a saint or divinity. Ex-votos are placed in a church or chapel where the worshiper seeks grace or wishes to give thanks. This was was installed in 1836 and is is a small replication of a boat.
How to get passes
This church is free to visit and to look around.
