Chateau Fourcas Hosten, Moulis-en-Medoc
Lovely country manor house in the heart of Listrac-Médoc
Located in the peaceful village of Listrac, right beside a Romanesque church, this 3-hectares estate produce two types of red Listrac-Médoc wines.
The international reputation of this chateau was built by the Saint Affrique family, who purchased the land from Mr Hosten in 1810. The current owners are brothers Renaud and Laurent Momméja, who acquired the chateau in 2006. They undertook an ambitious renovation project, including the construction of a new vat room and the renovation of the beautiful manor house.
They produce two red wines of the Listrac-Médoc appellation, made with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes.
Visitor comments
- "We visited various parts of the Chateau, which has recently received an award for its restoration, learnt about the winemaking process and were given a tasting of two of the wines. There was no charge for the tour but we brought a number of bottles to take home! An excellent and enjoyable visit." - Trip Advisor
